C.B. Ragland Company (“CBR”) is a family owned and operated business which was established in 1919. The Company was founded by Charles Burton Ragland as a wholesale grocery distribution company in downtown Nashville. By 2001, the Company had grown to become one of the largest wholesale grocery distributers in the country and one of the top 10 privately held companies in Middle Tennessee. In 1948, the Company formed Colonial Realty, a wholly owned subsidiary that owned, developed and managed the Company’s real estate holdings. In 2002, the Company sold its wholesale grocery business to concentrate on real estate. In 2007, Colonial Realty was merged into C.B. Ragland Company. Today, the Company focuses on both management and redevelopment of company owned properties as well as third party fee management, brokerage and development.
